Street Fighter V Update - Charlie Reveal

Check out this new trailer released by Capcom for Street Fighter V that fully reveals Charlie and also gives us a demonstration of his gameplay:

Actual gameplay begins around the 0:40 mark. He certainly doesn't look like one of the good guys anymore does he? The stapled together Frankenstein's monster aesthetic looks a bit jarring at first, but I'm glad Capcom actually committed to the storyline of Charlie dieing back in the Alpha/Zero days.

It's about time if you ask me. I mean if Gouken can come back for Street Fighter IV after having his body totaled by Akuma (in addition to never being playable before in the first place), then why can't Charlie? I actually know quite a few people who prefer him to Guile, only now it looks like his fighting style has been taken in a whole new direction.

Aside from some of his normals and his sonic boom animation it looks like he plays like a completely different character since last we saw him. He actually reminds me a lot of Juri with his teleportation tactics (0:41, 0:52, 0:56 etc) not to mention that new sort of horizontal moving flash kick combination (0:46). I wonder if he'll still be a charge character. We should get a clearer picture once an actual match video surfaces.

At the end we're treated to yet another "teaser" which is obviously M. Bison. I wonder if he'll look much different than usual since this game is supposedly set after the events of Street Fighter III. I'm sure we don't have long to wait to find out. It has to be discouraging to Chun li that this guy just won't stay dead.

Also important to note that an open beta will be accessible to everyone that preorders the game. Whether this is for PS4 users or PC or both has yet to be revealed but I imagine they would like to collect as much cross platform netplay data as possible so it's safe to say it's for both.
