For me it was Tuesday

Today Capcom announced the next character in the Street Fighter V lineup, none other than the dictator himself, M. Bison. Check out the reveal trailer below:

I dig the white hair, indicating an older Bison than before. Perhaps no one was able to kill his body used in Street Fighter IV after all. Which raises the question, what has he been up to during the events of Street Fighter III? We also see subtle changes in his tradition costume with his top being a much longer, almost trench coat length. All tied together it gives him a sort of Magneto vibe to me. Very cool.

Gameplay wise he appears to be a completely different beast than ever before with what appears to be a new projectile deflection move, head stomps with otg abilities and much faster teleports with better recovery time. We also see what appears to be a sort of launcher type move when he strikes the ground making an explosion of psycho energy. Then again the video cuts in at that point and cuts out before we can see if he recovers in time to follow up, so it could just be a new throw. We definitely see him get a juggle hit after landing his slide though. Charlie doesn't appear to be doing anything at that point so it doesn't seem to be a counter hit benefit. The ex versions of his specials seem exceptionally painful to watch. I wonder if his commands will be any different.

It's refreshing to see such wild changes in these characters. It's no longer looking like this is just going to be a Street Fighter IV.5. I can't wait to see some extended uninterrupted gameplay footage of him.

Thanks for reading!
